Census

Statistical operation consisting of counting or measuring the sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population at a given time.
In Canada, the census is the primary source of information and is conducted every five years.

Census metropolitan area

Urban area with over 100,000 inhabitants made up of municipalities presenting a very high degree of economic and social integration.
Census metropolitan areas in Québec include Saguenay, Québec City, Montréal, Ottawa-Gatineau, Trois-Rivières, and Sherbrooke.

Certificate of study

Official recognition, by way of a diploma, that a student has successfully completed a study program.

College training

All college-level programs leading to a preuniversity diploma of collegial studies or a technical diploma of collegial studies, which generally leads to entry into the job market.
